Its a gorgeous Monday afternoon. The sun is streaming though the windows radiating a wonderful warmth. I have a few windows cracked. Letting the house exhale some of winters stale air. Its 52 degrees out. For the first time in 4 days I have a moment of solitude. I relish in it. Simply getting to sit and examine the day through the window at my leisure is refreshing. To be able to tune into my own voice and not have a distraction.. or be waiting for a distraction.. on a day that speaks of warm sand beaches and tropical breezes is lovely. If I could live solely in this moment, I could bang out the great American novel in no time. Alas, I have but this small window (It is going to snow 3 inches tonight) and so I will make of it I what I can.

The squirrels chase each other round and round the tree and birds flitter after one another. The playful critters laying claims for mates. The wheel of life ever in motion and sowing the most enjoyable of seeds all around. However, I am not looking forward to when the trees decide to chime in with their crescendo of spores and pollen. Leaves are beginning to unfurl so it wont be long.

The hubby took a few days off last week and gave us a 4 day weekend. We dinked around the house for the most part, however, we did make it out to one of the small local ponds where we launched his kayak for the first time. Despite not catching any fish, being on the water suits him very well. Willow and I enjoyed sitting on the banks. Unfortunately it is mud season and the trails are either closed or just plain ucky to stretch your legs on.

I have a strong desire to sit here and write some more.. and some more after that.. But the window for me to be outside enjoying the sun and warmth without a mask is also very narrow and so I must split my time between activities that sustain my soul. Time for some work in the garden. I wish I had 5 of me.. Id be so accomplished!
