When emotions run high, its difficult for me to write. But once Im through a thing (or at least have sufficiently processed it) the word flow much easier. As I mentioned in my last post, there has been a lot of transitioning going on. For the most part Im through it all now and finding my voice once again. Its nice to be at a place I can stop and exhale for a moment.
The day following Willows news, was my first day of training at DR Power. I admit I had no idea what to expect. Its been so very long since Ive been in the work force (with the exception of Immersion) but I found myself to be perfectly comfortable abd welcome walking in the door. In part because I know myself and my capabilities but also because the staff and training program is super supportive.
There were initially 5 students who participated in my training class. By the end we were down to 2. I guess only the strong survive. I will skip the stories of students throwing temper tantrums.. seriously, temper tantrums in the middle of class?! It was sad and funny.
Anyway, we just wrapped up 4 weeks of extensive training on the data entry processes, a thorough review of 4 product lines including tearing down and rebuilding each machine, and phone training. Today I took ownership of my desk and am officially on the job.

I was very impressed with the training itself (not to mention the fact that being in this environment reenergizes a large part of my charactor that has been long dormant) and I have not met an employee yet that I dislike. I felt right at home with the training team and am looking forward to future sessions. Ive even been invited to join one of the trainers off the clock in establishing a garden club.
While eventually the possibility of working from home exists, I cant image that I will opt to do so. Its nice being out of the house and focussed on something other than my to do list which cant be ignored when Im there.
Talking about that to-do list: the refi wrapped up and we are adding some long over due upgrades to fixtures as well as renovating the two rooms that were Willows. Soon we will have a dedicated guest bedroom and Connor will have a dedicated study/play room.
Speaking of Con, work and school continue at a swift busy pace. He is tired but managing it all very well. He has also found a group of friends to play magic with on the regular. Its wonderful to see him developing a little socially.
