The title is a little over exaggerated but it is still a surprise to realize that my little girl just hit the 22 year mark. 22 years old, on the 22nd day in the 22 year... Talk about a Golden birthday!
We took her clothes shopping last weekend for her gift, but we celebrated over steak at the Texas Roadhouse. Her choice. I was thrilled to find a tasty item on the menu called "Road Kill" that I didn't have to make any modifications to. Anyway, it was a nice dinner. She got a little embarrassed that the staff required that she "mount the stead" in recognition of her elevated status.

This weekend she and Max are boarding a bus and heading a few hours south to his grandmothers home for a few days with his family.
As I mentioned before, she has come off some meds recently and we have seen some good improvements. However, it has not all been a smooth transition. Her hormone shifts seem almost as extreme as what we saw in the cat before she was spade... at least towards me. My normal demeaner evoking tears and claims that I am mean. Fortunately, I understand where these emotional swings are coming from so I don't give in to my response... which is to smack a bitch. "Really. You are going to call me the C-word?" I walk away holding my breath. Later she returns to apologize. She knows she crossed a line but in the moment she didn't have the control to stop. We take it day by day.
In other news, after this semester, Con has 7 more classes to go to finish both his AA and Cyber Security Certificate. That is exciting. Because his day job pays less and has few hours, he is going to stop paying for his trainer. At this point his abs are popping and he has the knowledge he needs to maintain his progress. He recognizes that Champlain College will be more expensive than the committee college and so he is going to be putting the payment into savings for those classes. He is so very practically minded.
This weekend, Greg and I set about with the last of the winter chores and made another pass at cleaning up the garage (Its very close to being left alone). This finally gave us the room to maneuver the gypsum board (my eyes narrow and my lips purse as I write gypsum board before chuckling to myself... That's just a fancy name for drywall. ) and get it cut for installation. We will finally finish it all up this weekend and we will have the master bath up and running once again.
