I've set aside Mondays to be my "blogging" day. So far I am doing better at my consistency here (I really started writing this yesterday - Monday- so I think that counts a little towards being consistent?!) than on the live stream. I'm really not sure what purpose the livestreaming is fulfilling... outside of challenging me to occasionally put myself out there. I have not found my niche... Do I even have a niche? I don't know. I will continue for a little while longer and see if I find it. If not, I have other projects that could use my time and energy on. Like the discord. At least I have it created. But I am questioning its worth in my life at this point as well. I will continue to go with the flow and see what comes of it. I may make something of it yet!

In other news, planning is underway for summer events. First up we are hosting a Midsummer event mid June. It will be for a small group (4ish) of AFAers living in a 4 hour radius. I may expand invites to neighbors and such.

As the weather gets better, we are starting to prep our beds for planting in a few weekends and thinking about washing the siding and other summer chores. I started a whole bunch of seedlings earlier this year. We have moved them outside to climatize. Ill bring them in when the weather dips as it is anticipated to do for the next little bit.

This weekend, outside of garden and yard prep, El Jeffe got to try his hand on the Lake up near the islands.

Depending on what resource you use Lake Champlain is the 8th or 13th largest lake in the US. To put that in perspective, Lake Tahoe is ranked 31st in surface size. The average depth of Lake Champlain is 60 ft. with occasional depths at the center of several hundred feet. So despite its size it is rather shallow. The weather was a little windy and it is still chilly. He didn't get any bites but it was a lovely afternoon of recreation. Followed by days of pain - unrelated to the kayaking - El Jeffe had a little oral surgery not to long ago that became infected. He is headed into the dentist today to get it taken care of.

The wind brought down a power line (or is it a phone line?) I called the power company 3 days ago. Its still laying on the roof.

Hmm.

A little update on my son... He started going to the gym in December and is really starting to show some definition which is strengthening not only his body but his sense of confidence. Its good to see him embracing lifestyle changes to support his physical health.

In a sing song voice "Our daughter has a boyfriend." There have been interests here and there but no one has come close to being called boyfriend. This boy has some really compatible experiences (lived in CA, lives in Vermont, has traveled overseas) His life has certainly been more expansive than what is typical of our rural population. On top of that he is quirky in the most compatible way with her. He is also gentle spirited and they spend their time together laughing. In other child related news, She is currently waiting to hear back regarding a job working at the airport. As I understand it, she would be primarily checking in passengers at the gate. At least she won't be working with children.

What else? I'm off to work in the yard, run to the bank and then to work on a proposal (Oh shit its Tuesday.. and that also means I'm supposed to live stream as well) Regarding the proposal I know a very capable individual who is interested in some of the VR equipment. There is so much relevant information to convey that I have found it slow going working my way through details. I hope to get my final draft wrapped up by Thursday. Fingers crossed as I've come to realize that I never know exactly how the winds of my day are going to blow. But it is my biggest priority to get done!
